Permafrost map of the circumpolar north - updated 2020
Permafrost is thawing and changing rapidly, posing serious challenges to the Arctic region and the whole planet. A new map, produced as part of the Nunataryuk project, gives an updated picture of the extent of permafrost in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions, both on land and offshore, providing an important baseline from which to measure permafrost changes in the future
