Each month, the collaborators host a seminar on a Thursday, featuring an expert in Arctic research who shares their knowledge and insights. These seminars are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to sign up and join online.

As a Doctoral candidate, you have the unique opportunity to engage in group discussions and complete examination tasks to earn credits. This is an excellent platform to connect with fellow doctoral candidates from diverse fields, contribute to discussions, lead breakout sessions, and gain valuable experience. Organizers offer priority admission to doctoral students from the Arctic Five universities.

Doctoral students at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway can apply for the course SVF-8602 Changing Arctic Seminar. One semester, oral exam 2 ECTS. Deadline for applications: 1 September.
Doctoral students at Umeå University can apply for the course Perspectives on Sustainability in Arctic Research. Two semesters, written home exam, 5 ECTS. Deadline for applications: 1 September.
Doctoral students at University of Lapland can apply for the course TUKO1301 Introduction to Arctic Research. Two semesters, written home exam, 5 ECTS. Deadline for applications: 1 September.
Other attendees can register with this form for public presentations. Deadline for registration: 1 September.
The Arctic Five is a partnership between Luleå University of Technology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Umeå University, the University of Lapland, and the University of Oulu. Together they advance and share knowledge, develop education, undertake research, and create innovations for the development of the region and a sustainable Arctic. The Arctic Five also functions as a UArctic Regional Centre in the Fennoscandinavian Arctic.
