Event was organized by the Polar Institute of The Wilson Center together with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, University of Helsinki and the Polar Cooperation Research Centre of Kobe University.

The public seminar featured many prominent speakers on major environmental challenges in Antarctica, including marine conservation; Antarctic policy perspectives from the point of view of the foreign affairs community; Antarctic science challenges including climate change; and academic views on challenges the Treaty System has faced in the past 25 years.
The first half of the program was in English, and the second half in Finnish.
