Every fourth to six years, the Centre for Public Health in Greenland from University of Southern Denmark and Ilisimatusarfik conduct the national Greenland Population Health Surveys on behalf of the Department of Health in Greenland. The survey is centered around a large set up with a comprehensive interviewer administered questionnaire with questions about various aspects of health including diet, alcohol, smoking, mental health, violence, suicide, sexual abuse etc. The survey is set-up via the instrument SurveyXact, which can be used both online and offline.
As preparation for the upcoming survey, which will begin in 2024, Charlotte was invited to join colleagues at Ilisimatusarfik to test the interviewer administered questionnaire from June 13-20, 2023.
During the exchange Charlotte and the team from llisimatusarfik recruited participants, trained interviewers, prepared the technical set-up and finally conducted the pilot tests in a set-up close to “the real deal”.
The exchange has been a valuable opportunity to work together across universities on a shared project and the results of the pilot test have been essential for the upcoming survey.
