"Arctic Indigenous Witness Films" event focused on the Indigenous filmmakers' work in their communities

The goal of the event was to give Arctic indigenous filmmakers the opportunity to talk about their work in their own communities. The discussion focused on the effects of climate change and how people adapt and adjust their own lives to the changing environment. The filmmakers talked about how important the media and the film industry are in spreading information worldwide. 

Arctic Indigenous Film Fund (AIFF) and Telefilm Canada are partnering up to organize The Witness short film series including training and workshops for Indigenous filmmakers in different places in the Arctic 2023. Training program has 6 film directors from Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Sápmi and Sakha. Premiere of short films in ImagineNATIVE October 2023.

This is for those who are interested in telling stories of their Indigenous communities: How is climate change affecting your everyday life? Do you have an interesting point of view about people’s special skills in organizing, creating new ways, and managing in the changing Arctic?
