Food (in)Security in the Arctic: Contribution of Traditional and Local Food to promote Food Security with Particular Reference to the European High North is a networking project funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The project addresses the issues of food (in)security amongst the Arctic population and identifies the contribution of traditional and local foods in alleviating food (in)security in the region. The project promotes research-based knowledge by having included a group of scholars from diverse disciplines, and from all across the Arctic regions. The expected results from the project will help identify obstacles to food security causing the effect on human rights and human security among the most vulnerable groups of people of the Arctic including its indigenous population.

Expected participant are coming from the Arctic Centre (University of Lapland), Arctic Research Centre (Umeå University), University of Helsinki, The University of Tromsø - The Arctic University of Norway, University of Hannover, University of Toulouse, Altai State Technical University Siberia, Murmansk Arctic State University, Rovira i Virgili University, University of Montreal and Mälardalen University.
