Durham University has received a grant from the Leverhulme Trust to fund 15 doctoral students whose research will focus on Interdisciplinary Understanding for a Changing Arctic. Students may pursue their degree in any discipline, but the proposed project should have an interdisciplinary component as well. DurhamARCTIC students enrol at Durham in three cohorts of five students each, with intakes in Autumn 2018, 2019, and 2020.

In addition to providing fee waivers, a maintenance stipend at the standard Research Council UK rate, and financial support for research and conference attendance, DurhamARCTIC provides a number of opportunities for interdisciplinary education including colloquia, summer schools, and an integrated residential community for programme students.
