The I International Summer Institute "Innovative Learning Institute on Circumpolar Health" was opened 10 August on the base of North-Eastern Federal University. This is the first event organized in the framework of the new UArctic Thematic Network "Northern Nursing Education".

Representatives of indigenous peoples took part in the project "School for Young Leaders-2015". Young people from six districts of Sakhalin arrived in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to gain leadership skills. This experience will help in their future social activities aimed at protection of indigenous peoples’ interests and rights.

The 8th Northern Research Forum (NRF) Open Assembly will merge with the Trans Arctic Agenda and take place in Reykjavik, Iceland on 14-15 October 2015. The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, under the Environment programme, invites letters of inquiry for its energy and climate grants. These aim to ensure that energy is produced and used cleanly and efficiently, with limited impacts on human health and the environment.

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) scientists propose creating Arctic campus for research groups in the region. Scientific base will be located in cities of Pevek and Anadyr in Chukotka, says the director of the School of Engineering FEFU Alexander Bekker.
