New MA program in Applied International Studies at University of Washington

The Master of Arts in Applied International Studies (MAAIS) at the University of Washington is a new intensive 10-month graduate degree program designed for professionals seeking to accelerate their careers in the foreign affairs arena. The program includes a three-week module on the current geopolitics of the Arctic. Application deadline: 4 April 2014.
The MAAIS program offers:
  • An intensive, full-time, 10-month graduate degree in International Studies
  • Connections to international business, philanthropic, government and non-profit leaders
  • Opportunities to study with a diverse cohort of international professionals

The MAAIS program is intended for U.S. and international applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least five years of experience in fields across the international affairs spectrum – including business, government, military and philanthropy – and beyond.

Graduates of the MAAIS program will receive a Master of Arts in International Studies degree. The full title of the 1-year option that will be listed on graduate transcripts is Master of Arts in International Studies (Applied International Studies Option).
