Conference thematic areas:

The conference shall be held in Petrozavodsk at KarRC RAS on May 22-24, 2014 with support from the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Russian Hi-Tech Foundation, Russian Znanie (Knowledge) Society, and the International and Norwegian Barents Secretariats.

Please inform the Organizing Committee of your intention to participate before April 12, 2014.

Simultaneously with the Conference the International Summer School “Sovereignty in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region” will take place at the Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU) on May 19-25, 2014. The School is organized by the Aleksanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki, the University of Lapland and PetrSU within the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia” co-financed by the European Union.

On May 23, 2014 the 4th International Conference “Innovative and Safe Cooperation in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region” has scheduled to hold a session jointly with the PetrSU International Summer School to discuss political, economic and social aspects of sovereignty in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region.

Students participating in the Conference can apply to take part also in the International Summer School at PetrSU as audience, and experts – as lecturers.
