The key outcome of the AOS will be an assessment of the fit between stakeholder-needs, science objectives and observing networks and a variety of products to improve this. The foundation for the AOS is community input. To capture and integrate input from a broad range of participants the AOS includes preparation, in advance, of community white papers, which are available for public comment.

This is a reminder that the deadline for the submission of white papers is on 28 February 2013. Additionally, the call for poster presentations is now open. The deadline for poster submission is 8 April 2013. Additionally, an online survey has been created for wide input.
