The Seventh International Congress of the Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS VII), entitled Circumpolar Perspectives in Global Dialogue: Social Sciences beyond the International Polar Year, will be held in Akureyri, Iceland, on June 22-26, 2011. This conference will be hosted by the University of Akureyri, the Town of Akureyri, and the Stefansson Arctic Institute.

Organized by the International Arctic Social Sciences Association (IASSA), these international congresses are held every three years and offer various venues to share Arctic research in the social and human sciences and related fields. ICASS VII will feature plenary presentations, discussion panels, workshops, special project sessions, poster sessions, and keynote addresses. Call for Paper and Poster Abstracts
IASSA hereby calls for individual paper and poster proposals. Proposals must be submitted on our special abstract submittal form at the IASSA website, www.iassa.org. The submittal form allows you to state or enter the presentation title; name and contact details of submitting author; names of additional authors; presentation type (paper or poster); abstract of no more than 250 words; and title of the session where you would like your presentation placed. If your paper is already invited by a session organizer, please indicate this; if not, then we suggest that you state more than one preferred and potential placement for your paper presentation.

The abstract submittal form and a complete list of congress themes and sessions are located on the website of IASSA under www.iassa.org/abstracts and www.iassa.org/programme. Submission deadline is December 20, 2010.

Presentations will be 20 minutes long. Special inquiries about particular sessions should be sent to session organizers.
