The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2009 will, for the first time, include not only annual meetings of the arctic organizations, but also a 3-day International Science Symposium, to be held 24-26 March 2009, in Bergen, Norway. Annual meetings are scheduled to take place 22-23 and
27-28 March. More information is available on the ASSW 2009 website:

Additionally, a Science Forum will be held on 28 March. The main purpose of this Science Forum is to introduce and discuss the scientific content and foci of the International Arctic Science Committee's (IASC) new Scientific Standing Committees (SSC). The Executive Committee, together with the Interim Chairs of the new IASC SSCs, will develop a program for the IASC Science Forum, which will also include contributions related to the follow-up of the Second International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP II).
