The project is aimed at creation and development networking tools to facilitate involvement of British and Russian institutions into the global Arctic research community and will focus on a variety of research themes with a strong focus on changing Arctic from the perspective of the Russia`s State Program on the Arctic Zone Development and the Adapting to Change UK policy towards the Arctic.

The project organizers will run a number of seminars and workshops in Russia and UK in a course of 2017-2018 with a concluding conference in Arkhangelsk in spring 2018.

The project kick-off meeting at the University of Aberdeen with participation of British and Russian researchers as a side-event of the UArctic Rectors Forum and the conference “The Inhabited Arctic: Lands, Peoples and Scholarship in the Circumpolar North”, will serve as a meeting place for researchers from both countries to share best practices and identify themes of common scientific interest, as well as to learn more about opportunities for research collaboration within the University of the Arctic.
